Homecoming:

Everyone Has a Future.

Coming to Richmond, Virginia!

Homecoming will be a unique mixed-use development made specifically for people living with dementia. On a campus of 15 acres, we will bring hope to the lives of those living with dementia by restoring the 3 losses of dementia: freedom, community and purpose.

Our campus will house 120 elders in small homes of 10 people each. These homes will open onto a village green with a marketplace to shop for the day’s supplies, a town square in which to relax, household pets to care for and mature woods in which to wander. In addition, we will re-integrate our elders with the community by including a daycare and brewery on campus as well as a playground, dog park and other amenities.

Homecoming is a place where people who live with dementia can truly live again. On a campus of over 15 acres near Richmond, Virginia, we will provide a safe space for people who live with dementia to reconnect to the outdoors, discover new passions, form community and find meaningful vocation. We find our inspiration in other memory villages throughout the world:

Every person deserves a vibrant life.

Our Proposed Campus near Richmond, Virginia

Homecoming Marketplace

Homecoming Marketplace is open to our residents and the surrounding community. In Homecoming Marketplace, elders will shop with their house guide for the day’s supplies and engage in meal planning

Brewery

We will partner with a local craft brewery, reintroducing our elders to a vibrant social life with good food and drink as well as music.

Daycare

Our daycare will not only provide a safe and nurturing environment for children from the community as well as our staff, but it will re-introduce children into the lives of our elders.

Barnyard

Elders will be responsible for feeding and grooming the barnyard animals as well as collecting eggs for breakfast. Our elders are not just care receivers, but caregivers as well.

Calling all Dog Owners!

Part of the community amenities that we will offer will be a one-acre dog park open to the surrounding community.

The Freedom to Wander

The Freedom to Wander

Unfettered access to the outdoors represents more than just fresh air - it represents freedom and choice for our elders. Within a secure setting, elders can wander through our village green and then beyond into a wood of mature beech, oak and hickory.
