Freedom

Our Members will regain Freedom:

For many people with dementia, admission to a nursing home or memory care unit can represent a restriction on simple freedoms and choice. Outdoor access in particular can be limited. On our secure 15 acre campus, we will allow our members unfettered access to outdoor space. Freedom will be restored in the simple act of allowing people to open the door to choose their path.

Healing is found outdoors

We believe that the outdoors offers much more than fresh air. It offers a chance to make choices again, to express freedom and to find peace. Because of the concerns over injuries and exposure, many people living with dementia have limited or even no access to the outdoors. Because of our secure perimeter and monitoring program, our elders will have the freedom to open a door, to choose their path and to follow their bliss. Barring inclement weather, doors will be open from dawn to dusk.

Balancing Safety and Freedom:

Homecoming staff and security systems will enable elders to roam the campus while ensuring their location is known at all times. Discrete personal tracking devices are available to increase the safety of more mobile residents.

Wayfinders

Our main campus will be designed with clear lines of sight to help our elders orient themselves. The nature path will be well marked and graded to allow independent exploration.

Find your bliss.

We are convinced that a life lived in dementia is truly a life to be lived. Every single member of our staff is committed to help each elder in the pursuit of happiness. It’s a place that celebrates the person as they were, as they are now, and as they are becoming.
